NBC Learn Discontinued

On June 30, 2020, NBC will discontinue its educational arm, NBC Learn. As a result, learners will no longer be able to view NBC Learn videos in their courses. Resources linked from the NBC Learn navigation feature will be deactivated also and redirected to a 404 error message.

If your courses currently use NBC Learn content, please consider any of the following valuable alternatives:

  • FIU library. The university library holds an abundance of media that exceeds that of NBC Learn. Begin exploring the possibilities by using the “Ask us @ FIU Libraries” feature.
  • YouTube. The world’s largest repository of videos with native captioning and embedding features. With proper judgment, you can find quality educational videos on YouTube.
  • PBS Video. This collection of free videos draws from PBS programs like NOVA and Frontline.
  • LinkedIn Learning. A platform that promotes professional development related to business, technology, and creativity with expert-led course videos.

The discontinuation of NBC Learn is a chance to refresh course media. This is especially true for our Summer B and C courses, for which you must establish alternatives promptly. For extra guidance, you can open a Canvas Help case and consult with an instructional designer.
