Employees make a commitment to volunteer and help those in need.

FIU Online employees believe that one of the greatest gifts you can give is your time. FIU Online, the pioneer in online learning, made a commitment to volunteer in its local community and continues to demonstrate that no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.
To date, FIU Online’s approximately 200 employees have touched 2,238 lives through ongoing volunteer efforts, and this number only represents the beginning of FIU Online’s philanthropic efforts.
Moving forward, FIU Online will seek new opportunities to volunteer and at least one yearly team meeting will coincide with a volunteer event like the most recent Team Meeting, which took place at Liberty City Elementary School. FIU Online partnered with HandsOn Miami to work both inside and outside the school to beautify the campus. Projects included numerous gardening and painting efforts to brighten and refresh the school’s surroundings and media center. A previous team meeting took place at Brownsville Middle School where FIU Online employees performed similar volunteer tasks.
Last year, FIU Online also worked with Chapman Partnership to make lasagnas, peanut butter, and jelly sandwiches and provide toiletries to homeless shelters in South Florida. Going further, since Spring 2017, 20 fully online students each received $500 scholarships through the Ignite Scholarship fundraiser.
It’s been said that to move forward, you have to be giving, and this could not be truer for FIU Online, whose future is committed to making a difference one person at a time.
